As such, she normally just sends me off into the pre-dawn with something to eat, some hot miso soup, or green tea in a thermos and a kick in the arse.

We've chased pronghorn in WY and moose together in NH, and gone on many bird outings, but she prefers upland bird hunting outings to ducks, as she doesn't do very well in the cold. KG does come hunting with me on occasion. There have been times that I could have come close to a limit armed with a tennis racket alone. Can be some hot shooting, especially when gunning out of a layout. It's a funnel and relatively shallow in that area and the seaducks come in to feed on the mussel beds that are there. The Boston skyline pic is taken just off Broad sound, Lynn MA, looking south. Come out some time and maybe we can make a convert of you. I understand perfectly on that kind of experience. KG hunt with you? I've seen her in a lot of your fishing pics, is why I ask. Love the pic with the (Boston?) skyline in the background.very unique!ĭoes Mrs.

Had I gone with guys who knew their stuff and where to go, I probably would still be at least a little interested. Tried without a good dog (or boat) and got tired of getting up way to early to go sit in the cold and wait for them to come. WADR, if chasing waterfowl is boring, you ain't doing it right. H&A's were well made but I suggest that you take this one to a gunsmith before you shoot it.Don't really waterfowl anymore (too boring) There are very few old single shots that are worth much today with the exception of the Winchester 37 and of course single shot Trap guns. Their single shot break open and falling block shotguns produced from the late 1800's through the 1940's and siome were made for the cresent firarms company that made cheap singles shots that were sold in hardware stores and wer very popu lar diring the Great depessiomn when they cou ld be bougt for under ten dollars. Hopkins & Allen manufactured revolvers for Forehand & Wadsworth under contract as well as shotguns, rifles, and derringers for various sporting goods stores.īetween the mid sixties to late 1970's Numrich arms made very nice underhammer caplock muzzleloading rifles and pistols based on a Hopkins and allen design that H&A never actually produced.

The company was reorganized as Hopkins & Allen Arms Company but lost its factory and machinery in a fire in 1900, also along with the great robbery in 1905 shortly after, thieves cleared out the whole warehouse.
